imagescanians8.jpg    I’ve lived all over the country, including in L.A. and Washington, D.C. the number one and two areas with the worst traffic congestion. As aggravating as sitting in bumper to bumper rush hour traffic can be, the one upside is that it gives you time to think. A thought that crossed my mind many times during my stay in both areas was “all of these hundreds of thousands of car drivers need to stop for gas at some point.”

That thought evolved into “Why don’t more businesses make use of gas pump advertisements?” While waiting for their cars’ tanks to fuel up, potential customers could be reading advertisements for local or national businesses. According to a 2007 DOT study, there are an estimated 254.4 million registered passenger vehicles in the U.S. All of those cars need to be fueled; capturing even a fraction of that market could be a huge boon to any business.
